Coca-Cola was founded in 1886. The original Coca-Cola drink was created by Atlanta pharmacist Dr. John Stith Pemberton, who produced the syrup and brought it to Jacobs' Pharmacy in Atlanta, Georgia, where the first glass was served on May 8, 1886. The Coca-Cola Company itself was incorporated later in 1892 by Asa Griggs Candler, who had purchased the rights to the drink and expanded its distribution and marketing.
