when was the sydney harbour bridge built

The Sydney Harbour Bridge was built starting in 1924 with construction taking about eight years to complete. The bridge was officially opened on March 19, 1932. The two sides of the steel arch met in the middle in 1930, completing the main structural work before the official opening ceremony.
