when will atlas reach earth

The interstellar object named 3I/ATLAS is expected to reach Earth between November 21 and December 5, 2025. It is currently traveling at about 135,000 miles per hour and is classified by NASA and ESA as an interstellar comet. While some propose it could be an alien spacecraft or mothership, the official stance is that it is a natural comet. The closest it will pass to Earth is about 1.80 astronomical units (AU), or roughly 269 million km, on December 19, 2025, so it will not come very near to Earth itself. Its closest approach to the Sun will be on October 29-30, 2025, at about 1.36 AU, between Earth's and Mars' orbits.
