where are hmong people from

The Hmong people originally come from the southwestern region of China, particularly around the Yangtze and Yellow River basins. They have a history that dates back thousands of years in this area. Due to persecution and conflicts, many Hmong migrated from China over the centuries to mountainous regions of Southeast Asia, including Laos, Thailand, Vietnam, and Myanmar.
