Passwords on an iPad are stored securely in the Passwords app, introduced in iOS/iPadOS 18. This app holds encrypted password data for websites, apps, and Wi-Fi networks. Users access and manage their passwords by authenticating with Face ID, Touch ID, or their device passcode. These saved passwords can also be synced across Apple devices via iCloud Keychain. To view passwords on an iPad:
- Open the Passwords app (or go to Settings > Passwords)
- Authenticate with Face ID, Touch ID, or passcode
- Select an account to view saved passwords and related info
- Users can copy passwords, add notes, or delete entries as needed
Additionally, passwords saved in browsers like Safari or Chrome on the iPad are also managed through this system or their respective password managers. The passwords are securely encrypted and stored locally on the device as part of the system's secure storage and synced through iCloud if enabled.
