T cells are initially produced from hematopoietic stem cells in the bone marrow. These stem cells differentiate into lymphoid progenitor cells, which then migrate from the bone marrow to the thymus. In the thymus, these progenitors mature into functional T cells through a complex developmental process involving multiple stages of selection and differentiation. After maturation in the thymus, T cells enter the bloodstream and lymphoid tissues to perform their immune functions
