The Dolomites are a mountain range located in northeastern Italy. They form part of the Southern Limestone Alps and stretch from the River Adige in the west to the Piave Valley in the east. The Dolomites span several regions: Veneto, Trentino-Alto Adige/Südtirol, and Friuli-Venezia Giulia, covering provinces including Belluno, Vicenza, Verona, Trentino, South Tyrol, Udine, and Pordenone. They are renowned for their unique pale-colored dolomite rock and impressive peaks, with the highest being Marmolada at 3,343 meters (about 10,968 feet).
