where are the hawks from

The Hawks are originally from the Tri-Cities area, which includes Moline and Rock Island in Illinois and Davenport in Iowa. They were founded in 1946 as the Buffalo Bisons in Buffalo, New York, but quickly moved to the Tri-Cities and became the Tri-Cities Blackhawks. They later moved to Milwaukee and then St. Louis before settling in Atlanta in 1968, where they are now known as the Atlanta Hawks. The franchise has a rich history with one NBA championship won in 1958 when they were based in St. Louis.
