As of September 30, 2025, the two active hurricanes are Hurricane Humberto and Tropical Storm Imelda in the Atlantic Ocean region near Bermuda.
- Hurricane Humberto is located about 275 miles west of Bermuda, moving north-northwest at 17 mph with maximum sustained winds of 100 mph. It is expected to pass west and then north of Bermuda and continue moving northeast, gradually weakening and becoming a strong extratropical system in the coming days. Humberto is generating dangerous surf and rip current conditions affecting Bermuda, the northern Caribbean, the Bahamas, and the U.S. East Coast.
- Tropical Storm Imelda is located about 165 miles north of Great Abaco Island and moving northeast at 7 mph. It is forecast to strengthen into a hurricane near Bermuda by late Wednesday, moving away from the Bahamas and approaching Bermuda by midweek. Imelda is causing swells and life-threatening surf and rip currents spreading from the Bahamas to the U.S. East Coast.
No other tropical cyclones or hurricanes are currently active in the North Atlantic or other ocean basins at this time.
