The Kelpies are a pair of monumental steel horse-head sculptures located in The Helix park, between the Scottish towns of Falkirk and Grangemouth. They stand next to the M9 motorway and form the eastern gateway of the Forth and Clyde Canal. Each sculpture is 30 meters (about 98 feet) tall. The Kelpies were designed by sculptor Andy Scott and completed in 2013. They represent the lineage of the heavy horse of Scottish industry and economy and are inspired by mythical water horses called kelpies. The surrounding area, known as The Helix, is a large parkland with walking and cycling trails, water sports, and other recreational activities. The Kelpies have become an iconic symbol of the region and a major visitor attraction. Visitors can find The Kelpies in The Helix park, which covers over 350 hectares of green space between Falkirk and Grangemouth, Scotland. The location is easily accessible with parking and facilities such as cafes and a visitor center nearby.
