Rutgers University is primarily from New Jersey, United States. Its main and largest campus, Rutgers University–New Brunswick, is located chiefly in the City of New Brunswick and adjacent Piscataway, New Jersey. The university also includes campuses in Newark and Camden, New Jersey. Rutgers is a public land- grant research university with several campuses spread across New Jersey, with its historic core in New Brunswick. It is notably one of the oldest colleges in the U.S., originally chartered as Queen's College in 1766 and renamed in honor of Colonel Henry Rutgers in 1825.
