Your Tax File Number (TFN) can be found in several places:
- Online through your myGov account if it's linked to the Australian Taxation Office (ATO). You can log in to myGov, select the ATO service, and find your TFN under "Find my TFN" or in your personal details section.
- On official documents such as your income tax notice of assessment, payment summaries or income statements from employers, letters from the ATO, and superannuation account statements.
- By contacting the ATO directly at 13 28 61 during business hours with proof of identity.
- From your registered tax agent or accountant if you have previously used one.
If you don't have a myGov account, it can be created online, and then you can link it to the ATO to access your TFN. If your TFN is lost or possibly stolen, contact the ATO Client Identity support center at 1800 467 033 for assistance and security measures.
