You can get your vehicle registration sticker from the following places depending on your state:
- California: You can request a replacement sticker online through the California DMV website if your original sticker is lost, stolen, or damaged. The replacement will be mailed to your registered address
- Texas: Registration stickers are mailed by your local county tax office after renewal. You can also get a replacement sticker in person at your county tax assessor-collector’s office for a small fee. Some grocery stores and AAA offices in Harris County also sell registration stickers for eligible vehicles
- Illinois: After renewing your registration online, the sticker is mailed to you within 5 to 10 business days
- New York: You can order a replacement registration sticker online, by mail, or in person at a DMV office. Online orders provide a temporary registration document until the sticker arrives by mail
- South Carolina: You may purchase a duplicate registration sticker online or at an SCDMV branch. For replacement decals, you may also mail a form with payment or visit a branch office
- Florida: You can renew or replace your registration sticker online via the MyDMV Portal or in person at any motor vehicle service center statewide, where you will receive the registration the same day
In general, registration stickers are either mailed to your address after online renewal or can be obtained in person at your local DMV, county tax office, or authorized service centers. Check your state's DMV or motor vehicle department website for specific instructions and locations.
