Before coaching at the University of Florida, Billy Napier was the head coach at the University of Louisiana from 2018 to 2021, where he compiled a successful 40-12 record. Prior to that, he was the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Arizona State in 2017. He also held assistant coaching positions at Colorado State, Alabama, Clemson, and South Carolina State. Notably, he began his coaching career as a graduate assistant at Clemson in 2003-04, later serving as offensive coordinator there from 2009-10 before moving on to other roles at Alabama and Colorado State, among others, before taking the head coach position at Louisiana.
