Drake Maye played college football for the University of North Carolina Tar Heels. He joined the team after initially committing to Alabama but then switched to North Carolina. He redshirted his freshman year in 2021 and became the starting quarterback in 2022, where he achieved numerous accolades including ACC Football Player of the Year. Maye set school records for passing yards and touchdowns during his college career at UNC.
