Iryna Zarutska was fatally stabbed on a Charlotte light rail train in North Carolina. The attack occurred while she was riding on the Blue Line train, having boarded at the Scaleybark station. She was sitting in an aisle seat in front of the assailant when he suddenly produced a knife and stabbed her in the neck inside the rear car of the train, near the 1800 block of Camden Road. She succumbed to her injuries on the train itself, with blood found at the scene where the attack took place.
