Common ravens live across a wide range of habitats throughout the Northern Hemisphere, including North America, Europe, Asia, and parts of North Africa. They inhabit varied environments such as arctic tundra, mountainous and coastal areas, prairies, forests (deciduous, boreal, and coniferous), grasslands, deserts, and even urban and agricultural regions. They prefer rugged, forested, or mountainous terrain for nesting and roosting, often near open areas for foraging, and coastal cliffs are also common nesting sites. Ravens can adapt to many environments and are found at altitudes up to 6,350 meters on Mount Everest. They often live in remote wilderness but can also thrive in human-populated areas like cities where food sources are plentiful.
