The Chicago Bears play their home games at Soldier Field, a multi-purpose stadium located on the Near South Side of Chicago, Illinois. Soldier Field has been the Bears' home since 1971, after they moved from Wrigley Field, where they played through the 1970 season. The stadium opened in 1924 and has a seating capacity of approximately 62,500, making it the smallest stadium in the NFL. It is also one of the oldest stadiums in the league. Soldier Field is situated along Lake Shore Drive and has undergone renovations, including a major rebuild in 2002-2003. The Bears' first game at Soldier Field was a victory against the Pittsburgh Steelers on September 19, 1971
