Ticks hide on humans in warm, moist, and hard-to-see areas of the body. Common hiding spots include:
- In and around the hair and scalp
- In and around the ears
- Under the arms (armpits)
- Inside and around the belly button
- Around the waist and back, often under clothing
- Around the groin and between the legs
- Behind the knees
- Between the toes
Ticks prefer these areas because they provide shelter, warmth, and moisture, making it easier for them to attach and feed unnoticed
