where does conception take place

Conception takes place in the fallopian tubes. Specifically, fertilization occurs when a sperm cell meets and penetrates a female egg cell in the fallopian tube after the egg is released from the ovary during ovulation. After fertilization, the fertilized egg (zygote) travels down the fallopian tube to the uterus where it implants into the uterine lining to begin pregnancy.
