The official residence of the Mayor of New York City is Gracie Mansion, located in Carl Schurz Park on the East Side of Manhattan, at East End Avenue and 88th Street. This has been the mayoral residence since 1942, with most mayors living there at some point during their term. The mansion is a historic Surviving wood structure built in 1799 by Archibald Gracie and is commonly referred to as the city’s “Little White House.”
