Alva Beach is located in Queensland, Australia, on a spit of sand that extends northward to Cape Bowling Green. It is part of the Burdekin River delta and lies immediately north of the shifting mouth of Plantation Creek. The beach is about 15 kilometers north-east of the town of Ayr. Alva Beach is also known as Lynchs Beach and has been the site of the Ayr Surf Life Saving Club since 1926. The area includes holiday houses and is known for variable surf conditions due to shifting sand and tidal currents. The town of Alva is a coastal locality within the Shire of Burdekin, Queensland, near the Coral Sea, with some parts inside Bowling Green Bay National Park.
