Baker Boy, whose real name is Danzal James Baker, is from Arnhem Land in the Northern Territory, Australia. He was born in Darwin and grew up in the remote Arnhem Land communities of Milingimbi Island (Yurrwi) and Maningrida. He belongs to the Yolŋu people and raps in both English and Yolŋu Matha, his Indigenous language. His totem is the Olive Python, and his skin name is Burralung/Gela boy. Baker Boy is well known for being the first Aboriginal rapper to gain mainstream success while rapping in Yolŋu Matha.
