Brigham Young University (BYU) is located in Provo, Utah, United States. The main campus is nestled at the foot of the Wasatch Mountains covering 738 acres and is home to more than 35,000 students. BYU also has branch campuses in Laie, Hawaii, and Rexburg, Idaho. Provo is about 45 minutes south of Salt Lake City, the capital of Utah. BYU is a private research university sponsored by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was founded in 1875 by Brigham Young.
