Clayton County is located in the north central portion of the U.S. state of Georgia, just south of Atlanta. It is part of the Atlanta metropolitan area and is the fifth most populous county in Georgia. The county seat is Jonesboro, and the largest city is Forest Park. Clayton County covers an area of about 144 square miles, making it one of the smaller counties in Georgia by size. It is home to most of Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International Airport, the busiest airport in the world by passenger traffic
