Costa Rica is a small country located in Central America. It lies between Nicaragua to the north and Panama to the south. It has coastlines on both the Pacific Ocean to the west and the Caribbean Sea to the east. The country is positioned roughly between latitudes 8° and 11° north and longitudes 82° and 86° west. Its capital and largest city is San José, situated centrally within the country.
