Cousins Beach is a fictional coastal town originally set in Massachusetts in the book series "The Summer I Turned Pretty" by Jenny Han, where it is implied to be a Cape Cod-esque beach town. However, the filming of the series mostly took place in and around Wilmington, North Carolina. The real-life locations used to portray Cousins Beach include Wilmington and nearby beaches like Carolina Beach, Kure Beach, and Wrightsville Beach. The iconic "Entering Cousins Beach" sign was filmed near the Wilmington Cape Fear Pilots Association old lookout tower in Southport, North Carolina. The Fisher family's beach house in the show is located in a private gated golf community called Porters Neck Plantation in Wilmington.
