Egypt is located in the northeastern corner of the African continent, with a small part of its territory, the Sinai Peninsula, extending into the southwestern corner of Asia, making it a transcontinental country. It is bordered by Libya to the west, Sudan to the south, the Red Sea to the east, and the Mediterranean Sea to the north. Additionally, it shares borders with the Gaza Strip and Israel to the northeast. The Gulf of Aqaba in the northeast separates Egypt from Jordan and Saudi Arabia.
