Estonia is a country located in Northern Europe, specifically in the Baltic region. It lies on the eastern shores of the Baltic Sea, bordered to the north by the Gulf of Finland (across from Finland), to the west by the Baltic Sea (across from Sweden), to the south by Latvia, and to the east by Russia. Estonia consists of a mainland and over 2,300 islands in the Baltic Sea, with its capital city being Tallinn. It is one of the three Baltic states and part of the European Union and NATO.
