where is glamis castle

Glamis Castle is located beside the village of Glamis in Angus, Scotland. It lies in the fertile lowland valley of Strathmore, about 20 kilometers inland from the North Sea, between the Sidlaw Hills to the south and the Grampian Mountains to the north. It is approximately 12 miles north of Dundee and can be accessed via the A90. The castle stands about 4 miles south of Kirriemuir and 5 miles southwest of Forfar, the county town of Angus. It has been the ancestral seat of the Earls of Strathmore and Kinghorne since 1372.
