Grand Blanc, Michigan, is a city located in Genesee County in the U.S. state of Michigan. It is a suburb of Flint and part of the Flint metropolitan area. The city is surrounded by Grand Blanc Charter Township and lies in southeast Genesee County, just a few miles south of Flint. The coordinates for Grand Blanc are approximately 42.9275°N latitude and 83.63°W longitude. It was originally settled by Chippewa Indians and later named by French traders. Grand Blanc means "great white" in French. The city has a population of about 7,784 as of the 2020 Census, while the surrounding township has a population nearing 39,846, with a combined area of about 36 square miles. The township and city cooperate closely but are administratively separate entities.
