where is kigali

Kigali is the capital city and largest city of Rwanda. It is located near the geographical center of Rwanda in East-Central Africa. The city lies in a region of rolling hills and valleys with coordinates approximately 1°57′S latitude and 30°4′E longitude. Kigali is also a province divided into three districts: Gasabo, Kicukiro, and Nyarugenge. It serves as Rwanda's economic, cultural, and transport hub and has a population of about 1.75 million people as of 2022. The city is known for its cleanliness, safety, and rapid development. Kigali is situated between Mount Kigali and Mount Jali and is bordered by the Nyabarongo River on the west and south sides.
