where is kilauea volcano

Kīlauea volcano is located on the southeastern part of the island of Hawaii, also known as the Big Island, in the state of Hawaii, USA. It is situated within Hawaii Volcanoes National Park and is adjacent to the much larger Mauna Loa volcano on the west and north. The summit of Kīlauea reaches about 4,090 feet (1,250 meters) above sea level and has a large caldera with active vents such as Halema‘uma‘u Crater. This volcano is recognized as one of the most active volcanoes in the world and has had near-constant activity in historic times.
