Methredhel in Oblivion can be found primarily in the Imperial City Waterfront District. Before starting the Thieves Guild questline, she is located on the Waterfront, often in a garden area or near her house, which is situated between the abandoned shack and Myvryna Arano's house
. She sleeps from sunrise until noon, so the best time to find her is in the afternoon
. Once you have started the Thieves Guild questline, Methredhel's location and behavior change. She can usually be found inside her house on the Waterfront early in the morning (around 6 to 9 a.m.) where she might be sleeping
. Later in the questline, during the "Misdirection" quest, she relocates to Dynari Amnis' house in the Talos Plaza District, where she hides to avoid Imperial Watch guards
