Ocean County is located in the U.S. state of New Jersey, along the Jersey Shore in the south-central part of the state. It borders the Atlantic Ocean to the east and is the largest county in New Jersey by total area. The county seat is Toms River. Ocean County lies about 50 miles east of Philadelphia, 70 miles south of New York City, and 25 miles north of Atlantic City.
