Patagonia is a geographical region located in the southernmost part of South America. It is shared by two countries: Argentina and Chile. The region stretches from the Colorado River in the north to the southern tip of the continent, including the archipelago of Tierra del Fuego. In Argentina, Patagonia spans six provinces including La Pampa, Neuquén, Río Negro, Chubut, Santa Cruz, and Tierra del Fuego. In Chile, it comprises the southern regions extending from the Andes Mountains to the Pacific Ocean. Patagonia features a diverse landscape with the Andes mountain range to the west, vast steppes and deserts to the east, and coastlines along both the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. It is known for its dramatic natural scenery including glaciers, fjords, lakes, and temperate rainforests on the Chilean side, as well as arid plateaus and grasslands on the Argentine side. The region is sparsely populated and renowned for its wilderness and outdoor adventure opportunities.
