Stonehenge is a prehistoric megalithic structure located on Salisbury Plain in Wiltshire, England. It is about 2 miles (3 km) west of the town of Amesbury and roughly 8 miles (13 km) north of Salisbury. The site sits around 330 feet above sea level on chalk downland known as Salisbury Plain. It is approximately 80 miles west of London and about 30 miles north of the English Channel.
