The United States Air Force Academy is located just north of Colorado Springs in the state of Colorado, USA. It sits at the foothills of the Rocky Mountains on a large campus adjacent to Interstate 25.

The Academy’s permanent site is in Air Force Academy, Colorado, an area and census-designated place directly adjoining the northern edge of Colorado Springs. The grounds extend along the east side of the Rampart Range of the Rocky Mountains.
Surrounding area
The campus covers roughly 18,000–18,500 acres of land in El Paso County, Colorado. It is accessible from Interstate 25 via exits just north of downtown Colorado Springs, commonly used by visitors entering through the Academy’s gates.
