The Railway Staff College, now known as the National Academy of Indian Railways (NAIR), is located in Vadodara, Gujarat. It is housed on the sprawling 55-acre campus of the Pratap Vilas Palace in Lalbaug, Vadodara. The academy serves as a centralized training institute for Indian Railway officers across civil service, engineering, and medical disciplines. It was originally established in 1930 in Dehradun but was relocated to Vadodara in 1952
. The Pratap Vilas Palace, built in 1914 and designed by C.F. Stevens in Renaissance style, provides the scenic and historic setting for the academy, with extensive gardens and wooded land. The college trains officers at all ranks and conducts various training programs for Indian Railway personnel
