In DaVinci Resolve, the render speed setting is in the Deliver page, inside the File settings at the bottom of the render options panel. On some versions and tutorials it may appear as Render Speed , and you can usually lower it there if your system struggles during export.
Where to find it
Open the Deliver page, then look at the left-side export settings. Scroll down through the file and quality options until you reach the bottom of that panel. That is where the render speed control is typically placed in versions that include it.
If you do not see it, the version of Resolve you are using may not show that exact label in the same place. In newer workflows, export speed is often handled more through codec choice, GPU acceleration, cache, proxies, and render settings than by a single obvious speed slider.
What it does
Render speed is generally a way to reduce the load on your computer during export. Lower values can help when a timeline has heavy effects, Fusion work, or a system that keeps stalling during renders.
A common practical approach is to try different values if exports fail or crawl. One tutorial example suggests stepping down through settings such as 75, 50, 25, 10, 5, 2, and 1 until the render completes reliably.
Better ways to speed up renders
If your goal is simply faster exports, these settings often matter more than the render speed control:
- Use a hardware-accelerated codec like H.264 or H.265 when your system supports it.
- Match export resolution and frame rate to the timeline instead of overshooting them.
- Use proxies or optimized media for heavy projects.
- Reduce complex effects or cache the timeline before exporting.
If it still is not visible
If you are following an older tutorial, the setting may belong to a different Resolve version. In that case, check the Deliver page first, then look through File and advanced export options, since Blackmagic has changed parts of the export interface across releases.
