Yellowstone National Park is located primarily in the northwest corner of Wyoming, United States, with small portions extending into southern Montana and eastern Idaho. About 96% of the park lies within Wyoming, approximately 3% in Montana, and 1% in Idaho
. The park covers roughly 3,472 square miles (8,983 km²) and is known for its geothermal features, wildlife, and vast natural landscapes. It is the first national park established in the world, created by the U.S. Congress in 1872
