lived on January 1. For example:

- Virginia Beach City: 2401 Courthouse Dr., Bldg. 1, Room 121, Virginia Beach, VA 23456-9002

The state prefers you mail your return to your local city or county office if possible
. If you filed electronically, you generally do not need to mail a paper return
