The TV series "Black Rabbit" was filmed entirely on location in New York City between April and September 2024. Filming took place across various parts of the city including Manhattan, Brooklyn (notably Coney Island), Queens, and the West Village. Specific filming sites included the now-defunct Bridge Café at 279 Water Street in the South Street Seaport area, the Russian & Turkish Baths, Times Square, and the lobby of Bellevue Hospital. The Bridge Café location, a historic wooden-frame building with a colorful past as a saloon known as The Hole in the Wall, served as the exterior setting for the fictional Black Rabbit restaurant. While the interiors were created on a soundstage, they were heavily inspired by the original building's architecture and New York's classic restaurant scene. The production aimed to capture an authentic, gritty version of New York City's nightlife and restaurant scene, using real-life locations to ground the story's atmosphere and setting rather than creating a glamorized cityscape.
