Charlie Kirk was born in Arlington Heights, Illinois, a suburb northwest of Chicago, and was raised in nearby Prospect Heights, Illinois. He grew up in the Chicago suburbs, where his political activism began early, including volunteering for a U.S. Senate campaign while in high school. He briefly attended Harper College near Chicago but dropped out to pursue political activism full-time. Kirk co-founded the conservative organization Turning Point USA in 2012, which became influential in conservative politics.
