Ed Gein was from Plainfield, Wisconsin, USA. He was born in La Crosse, Wisconsin, and committed his crimes in and around his hometown of Plainfield. His notorious acts, including grave robbing and murder, were discovered in 1957 in Plainfield. He spent the rest of his life in psychiatric institutions in Wisconsin until his death in Madison in 1984.
