Iryna Zarutska was fatally stabbed on a light rail train in Charlotte, North Carolina. The stabbing occurred while she was seated on the Lynx Blue Line train, shortly after boarding at the Scaleybark station, and it happened on the train itself during the ride toward the East/West Boulevard station. She was stabbed multiple times, including at least once in the neck, by a man sitting behind her on the train. Zarutska died from her injuries on the train before reaching the station where the suspect was arrested.
