Where Lanterns was filmed
Lanterns was filmed primarily in Los Angeles County, California , with the Warner Bros. Studios lot in Burbank serving as a major production base. The show also used Piru, California , which stood in for the fictional town of Rushville, Nebraska.
The clearest publicly reported locations are:
- Warner Bros. Studios Burbank , at 4000 Warner Boulevard, for much of the interior work and controlled stage filming.
- Piru, California , for exterior scenes meant to represent small-town Nebraska.
- Los Angeles, California , as the broader filming area listed in production records.
Reports on the series’ shoot also say principal photography began in February 2025 and wrapped in July 2025.
Some location roundups also mention additional Southern California spots, including Pomona , but those details are less consistently documented than Burbank and Piru.
In short, Lanterns was not filmed in Nebraska. It was made in Southern California , where production could build the show’s heartland setting using studio space and towns that fit the look of the story.
