where was marco polo from?

Marco Polo was from Venice, Italy. He was born around 1254 in Venice to a Venetian merchant family. Although there are some disputed claims suggesting he might have been born on the island of Korčula (now part of Croatia) when it was under Venetian rule, the widely accepted and most supported view by historians is that he was Venetian by birth and upbringing.
