where was the rifle found

The rifle was found in a wooded area behind Utah Valley University's Losee building in Orem, Utah. It was a bolt-action, high-powered rifle, specifically a Mauser .30-06 bolt-action model, discovered wrapped in a towel near the path where the shooter fled after the shooting. The wooded area is adjacent to the campus where the shooting took place. Investigators recovered the rifle along with spent and unfired cartridges and are examining it for evidence.
