The shooter was located on the rooftop of the Losee Center building at Utah Valley University, approximately 130 to 150 yards (about 120 to 140 meters) away from Charlie Kirk, who was speaking in an outdoor courtyard. The shot was fired from this nearby rooftop, after which the shooter fled across the roof and then escaped the campus into a nearby neighborhood.
